DEF Transfer Pump

Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Hornet W85 Transfer Pump – Part 1

It’s all the buzz: TECALEMIT’s Hornet W85 DEF Transfer Pump

When technology, engineering, and even physics are on your side, you simply can’t go wrong. Early TECALEMIT engineers envisioned a radical pump design that was a combination of all of these.  What resulted from their efforts was the Hornet W85 DEF Transfer Pump.

TECALEMIT is known for being detail-oriented, which is why it comes with no surprise that prior to designing a new pump, our engineers discussed solutions to existing priming problems. The outcome of the meeting was to design a pump that would capture two different types of technology (a vane and centrifugal combination system for faster and better performance).

In Part 1 of a 3-part series, we’ll introduce you to Hornet W85 DEF Transfer Pump.  We’ll take you step-by-step, from opening the box to installing the equipment. This workhorse of a pump is 100% continuous duty cycle, dispenses longer distances, and has a 20% higher flow rate than any other DEF pump on the market. We’d say we’re a bit biased, but facts don’t lie.

DEF, Diesel Dual Hose Dispenser - M1 Dispenser

TECALEMIT M1- Cardlock Commercial Fleet Fuel Management

When the first images of the M1 were released almost exactly two years ago (May 2014), it was very well received. Our eco dispensers have always been a staple for the Fuel Inventory Management realm, but we knew that eventually we’d have to grow from single to multi hose fuel management systems, and that there was no reason why our multi hose fuel management system (SuperBox) shouldn’t command its own dispenser configuration. When it comes to cardlock commercial fleet fuel management , we knew Jobbers would be excited to be able to offer a pedestal unit with dual dispense points and with the capability of accessing two different mediums at once, it was the quality and price point that they’ve come to expect from TECALEMIT.

Fluid Inventory Management System - Superbox

Fleet fuel management systems- Reporting functions

We often get the following question concerning our Fleet fuel management systems, what format does your system support on creating reports?

The software that comes standard for every unit does a very good job at taking the data and converting it into a PDF file showing you the following fields.

Fuel terminal- This will be what you named the system, in case you have several fleet fuel management systems being monitored.
Delivery point- TECALEMIT offers these fuel management systems in a one hose set up, 2 hose set up, and 5 hose set up.
Product name – if you have multiple delivery points, it will reflect in this column.
Driver- Driver’s name will populate here.
Vehicle- Vehicle’s name will populate here.
Miles- If you tun on the odometer feature, the system will request mileage before refueling.
Gallons- Amount of gallons being dispensed.
Date- date of transaction
Time- Time of transaction.

Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) dispensers – adding bulk DEF to cardlocks

We are going to continue to build this guide to help you determine some of the most important parameters when it comes to adding a new Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) dispenser.

First, let’s survey the property. We are looking for overall feel of the location, number of service lanes, existing dispensers, existing card-lock, and an understanding of where the future equipment could go.

As you walk the property, ask for existing volume of DEF if they expanding, or expected/projected volume of DEF if it is a brand new set up.

Some customers choose to have a tank right on the island, while others choose to have the tank remotely located. These are questions that need to be clarified while on location.

Let’s focus on the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) dispensers:

We are at a point once again where the Western Petroleum Marketers Association (WPMA) is coming up quickly.

Last year we had the privilege of unveiling our first generation Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) dispenser with weights and measures components for cardlocks. We received a very response for the summer and winter versions of the new DEF dispenser.

This year, we are happy to be coming back with another unveiling. With a brand new look and a lot more flexibility built into the platform, the new DEF dispenses will be available February 2016.

We look forward to seeing you at the show and shaking your hand. In typical fashion, we are happy to discuss your existing projects and offer guidance.

See you in Vegas !!
