Quick and Simple Tutorial on Connecting a Contactor Relay to a Wonderbox
In this short video, we’ll explain how to connect a contactor relay to a Wonderbox fuel management system. The video tutorial focuses on re-routing power from your existing pump to the Wonderbox so that the system has control over the pump powering on and off.
With each fuel management system you purchase, you’ll receive a small box that contains the contactor relay. The wires coming from the top and bottom are the ones being re-routed from the pump. The black wires are your “hot” wires, and your white wires are your “neutral” wires.
If you have an existing pump on location, you will first need to disconnect power and reconnect through the top or bottom of the contactor relay using the hot and neutral wires, explained above.
The two smaller wires on the left and right side of the contactor relay will come from the Wonderbox motherboard and power the contactor relay itself.
Important to remember is that the Wonderbox motherboard will require its own 110V dedicated circuit. Additionally, the 2nd circuit used to power the pump has been re-routed through the contactor relay.
To put things simply, when the driver or vehicle PIN code is entered into the Wonderbox, it will energize the contactor relay and open the circuit. This in turn will allow power to flow through the pump and turn it on.
