Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) pump systems – Out with the old for 2015!

It’s the second full week of the new year. Are you keeping up with your New Year’s resolutions? By now, the gym crowds have started to die down and most of us are falling back into our old bad habits and vices. One thing you can do to feel good about yourself in the sense of “New Year, New You” is to clean out all the junk you can’t utilize in your warehouse. A pre-spring cleaning, of sorts.
We recently had a customer of ours ask if we could use some extra scrap metal. They know that we custom build a lot of systems and although it seemed like an odd request, we accepted the ‘gift’ assuming that there was more to the story..… and there was. When the pallet arrived at our location, what did we find but a pile of DEF pumps that had broken down, burnt out, and given up. None of them were ours (thankfully) but we sure did recognize the duds that were present. When we called the customer back to thank them for their kind ‘gift’ of junk parts, we couldn’t help but smile and told them that their point was well received. Some of those pumps were very popular names, but as we have all been taught as children, “What is popular is not always the right fit.”

There are other companies out there with great Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) pump systems. Some of our competitors have pretty nice little units that are great for their intended applications and purposes. Smaller jobs, short term usage, and lesser amounts of fluid being transferred or dispensed at a time. However, your 2015 year may be getting ready to work under difference circumstances, requiring more robust Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) pump systems that require continuous duty cycle. The Hornet W85 was designed with a patented hybrid technology that allows them to be used for hours at a time without overheating. No other pump out there can do what ours does, and we have the track record to prove it.
The first of the year is always the time to evaluate your expenses from the year before. Make sure you’re making the best use of your money. Don’t wait until it’s too late and let another year go by where you’re using the equipment that you usually go with, even though it’s been letting you down. You might save a buck or two, or you could be spending much more than you should, either way it isn’t worth it. In this industry, the price point is important, but should come second only to quality. Commit to making the decision of “out with the old” in 2015.
