Meet the Hornet W85 DEF Pump and the Person Behind the Pump

A history of the DEF pump that started it all and how TECALEMIT’s vice president, Julio Colón discovered something truly powerful

All month long we have been focusing on the Hornet W85 DEF Pump, but we cannot close on this topic without talking about the person behind the pump. TECALEMIT Vice President, Julio Colón, has been there since the beginning. In 2013, LSI and TECALEMIT came together and embarked on a journey that grew into something they would have never imagined. Julio and the Hornet W85 have a powerful story…

Back to Our Core: The Hornet W85 DEF Transfer Pump & What it is NOT

During these last couple of months, we’ve had the opportunity to hear from our customers and gain some insight on one of our core products. The Hornet W85 DEF transfer pump is by far Tecalemit’s core, the heart and soul behind everything we do. In this congested industry where customers are given numerous options, the Hornet W85 DEF stands out more than ever. Today, we are tackling some of the reasons why Tecalemit’s DEF pump is unique, while emphasizing what it’s NOT compared to others in the market.

Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Hornet W85 Transfer Pump – Part 1

It’s all the buzz: TECALEMIT’s Hornet W85 DEF Transfer Pump

When technology, engineering, and even physics are on your side, you simply can’t go wrong. Early TECALEMIT engineers envisioned a radical pump design that was a combination of all of these.  What resulted from their efforts was the Hornet W85 DEF Transfer Pump.

TECALEMIT is known for being detail-oriented, which is why it comes with no surprise that prior to designing a new pump, our engineers discussed solutions to existing priming problems. The outcome of the meeting was to design a pump that would capture two different types of technology (a vane and centrifugal combination system for faster and better performance).

In Part 1 of a 3-part series, we’ll introduce you to Hornet W85 DEF Transfer Pump.  We’ll take you step-by-step, from opening the box to installing the equipment. This workhorse of a pump is 100% continuous duty cycle, dispenses longer distances, and has a 20% higher flow rate than any other DEF pump on the market. We’d say we’re a bit biased, but facts don’t lie.

5 Signs You’re Using the Wrong DEF Transfer Pump

Having the proper tools in any situation will save you time and money.  Most transfer pumps are purchased by the pallet, therefore it’s important to know you’re getting the best value.  Saving a few dollars on a cheaper option can end up being costly. In addition, overspending on a product can be just as wasteful.  You need to know that the pump being used by your customer has the best quality, performance, and overall usage.  And what’s more, can you afford not to know?

TECALEMIT Hornet W85: Beyond a DEF Pump

Our Hornet W85 DEF pump is simple & to the point. Its focus… versatility. It’s the only diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) pump in the market that can help graduate your customers into the current bulk movement with ease. Any pump can do the job on a drum/IBC Tote, but not every pump can push product from over 100 ft away, boast a 13 ft suction lift, & empty a 6500 GAL tank continuously, while being protected by a thermal overload sensor. Why are you restricted by time intervals? Free up time to focus on other important aspects of your business. Don’t just purchase a pump, invest in a long term solution.
